As a Hamburg based artist, Japanologist and art historian with a focus on Japanese art and culture,
I create high-quality unique pieces in which contemporary art and the traditional Japanese Nihonga
technique form a symbiosis.
For me, art is synonymous with the perception of beauty and transience of the moment. I want to
reproduce these values, which are also the basis of Japanese aesthetics, in my paintings and give the
viewer a positive feeling of beauty, serenity and harmony. I also work a lot with auspicious symbols
to transmit positive energy through my paintings.
In the process of creating a new painting, usually I go straight to the blank canvas with the brush, without
making any preliminary drawings. I let the creative process affect me and let the creative energy flow.
For this I mainly use acrylic paints on canvas.
